In 1945 Stan created was one of the most recognizable designs in the history of motor boats ‘The 22’ Torpedo’ which today can reach prices reach up to $200.000. In 1968 the business was passed into the hands of Stanley’s eldest son, Sydney H. Young and his wife Julie. Sydney designed some of the classic StanCraft models like ‘260 Norwester’ and ‘19 ‘Veruna’. Over the years, in addition to producing his own designs, Sydney was involved in the restoration of classic wooden boats by classic companies such as, Chis Crafts, Garwoods, Riva and others. In 2003, StanCraft was taken over by the third generation Rob and Amy Bloem, who moved the production to Idaho. In the past 12 years StanCraft has produced around 150 mahogany boats, 30 of the ‘Little Boat Series‘ and 75 ‘Pontoon’ Editions. StanCaft boats are floating, wooden works of art. The attention to detail and fine craftsman’s work is a testament to the timeless quality. See for yourself. |
